Choosing The Right Keyphrases For Your Web Site

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

People use the search engines in 2different ways. They usually tend to be for either buying or researching.
Key phrases used by users researching are typically
different to those used by users looking to buy. This means that when choosing keyphrases for your website you need to think
about what sort of traffic you are looking to attract.

Someone using a search engine to look to buy a Paul Frank belt is likely to use a term like Buy Paul Frank Clothes or Buy Paul Frank T-shirts as these are likely to bring up results from companies that sell Paul Frank merchandise. If they were researching into the business or the designer then terms like About Paul Frank Industries or Paul Frank Designer would be used.

This is not always the case for all keyphrases though. A user may have already researched products and will use keyphrases that include product ids and descriptions. For example if someone was searching for a specific medical product like a Vitalograph Emergency Aspirator then they might use the key phrase (M1830) Vitalograph Aspirator including the product number. This should return web pages with the specific product on so it is easy for the user to compare prices.

There are also some search terms that cover both research and buying traffic. These are keywords that will be used by both types of user.Terms like href=”http://www.cravenplan.co.uk” >Web Design Wiltshire and Web Design Salisbury would be used by people researching web design companies in the local area. Some one who is looking to hire a web design or search engine optimisation company is likely to use terms like these to.

My experience of getting a website designed and properly marketed.

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Having been in the retail business for some time I was trying to expand my profits by setting up a website to advertise my wares and sell it to larger companies that might use it. Coming from the Salisbury area my first thought was okay ? Web Design Salisbury? how am I going to get the site that I want made and properly marketed.

I looked up several informative pieces on the web and discovered that I would require a site that was properly laid out to make it easy for the people coming to my website to discover what they wanted. I also found out that even after you get your website the way you want it to look you need to get it discovered in the search engines. Which meant that it didn?t matter how much work was done on the site design, if the customers you needed to see your site don?t look at it.

I got in touch with a web design company that had been personally recommended to me just outside of Salisbury and they managed to not only design the site so that the company was reflected in a really good way but made the website very easy to get around. What then happened was something near to fantastic with the Search Engine Optimisation team making sure the site was in front of the relevant buyers in the search engines and the business then rolled in it was amazing.

Make sure you have your website well designed and properly Search Engine Optimised.

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Businesses understand that they have to have customers and pay through the nose to get huge adverts in the press, but it is shocking how many businesses aren?t conscious of the large amount of business they can get from there personal website if it has excellent web design and search engine optimisation (SEO). Whatever your company the major things are that you attract the correct customers, that the web design is clearly focussed towards the job at hand and thirdly that the people that you want to find your website find it without any trouble.

Unfortunately this wasn?t what my website was like, the website itself appearing cluttered lacking an simply navigable set up, the one or two individuals that did find my website, seemed to move away from the website almost as soon as they arrived on it. The right way to find out what you require about your website is to utilise the internet, just as you are using the internet now to find facts that relates to decent web design and search engine optimisation for your local area, type in something like Web Design Salisbury to point you in the correct direction.

Clients to your website should want to spend money almost as soon as they get to your front page, if the web design for your site is of no interest to the person that has just visited they will just as quickly click off it and leave the site to spend there hard earned cash.
Web design cant be under estimated, but the same weight should be given to the Search Engine Optimisation that is used on your site, allowing the website to be seen for what it is in the search engines so that it shows up for the correct searches your clients are putting in.

The skill in carrying out search engine work isn?t trying to cheat the search engines into believing your website is other than it is, but using up to date techniques to make your website the most relevant for its chosen subject. This sort of work isn?t a one off, it is consistent work targeted to help your website and keep it targeted for the search engines.
